Evolutionary Astrology is a symbolic, archetypal language. You could call it Soul Astrology, because the methodology is designed to provide insight into the core of an individual and Destiny.

The word, Soul, has different meaning for people. For now, let’s consider Soul to be that untouchable essence which connects us both to the deepest parts of ourselves and to the mysteries of Spirit. Evolutionary Astrology attempts to delineate the Soul’s path, which begins pre-birth.

“A child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with his individual karma (past actions).” Paramhansa Yogananda’s famous quote about astrology reminds us that we had and have free Will to manifest our own Destinies.

A reading (or studying the language) can empower you to create meaning in your life, live according to your highest, sacred values and meet your own essential needs, which results in living in harmony with your Soul’s call.

Choices, Empowerment, Freedom

Evolutionary Astrology encourages looking within and taking responsibility for our choices. The symbolism of the zodiac signs and celestial bodies is deep and powerful. However, the planets, Sun and Moon are not outside forces of influence.

“As above, so below. As below, so above.”

This phrase comes from one of the Seven Hermetic Principles called the Principle of Correspondence. This natural law explains why planetary energy may affect us, but not cause things to happen to us, or force us to make certain decisions. Consider the Moon and the Tidal system. The planets do not cause things to happen to us or make our choices for us.

We know, through eons of observation and correlation, by many wise stargazers and astrologers that zodiac signs, certain angles and phases between planets at the time of a birth can provide insight into the meaning of one’s life, the potential Destiny and the journey toward it.

The Heavens reflect what is happening on Earth. Earth and our lives on it, reflect what is happening in the Heavens. Similarly, we attract people into our lives who behave ways that reflects what is going on inside of us.

Understanding this natural principle, ‘as above, so below’, along with the wisdom of information documented over the centuries, we have another tool, to provide a symbolic perspective of a life, a situation or of an important moment in time.

Some people resonate to astrological symbolism because it reaches deeper places. Evolutionary Astrology can takes us on contemplative journeys about how we move in this world and give us the courage to practice living with ease.

One of my favorite quotes these days is from the Buddha. “Who you are and what you do should not be a hairbreadth apart.” Astrology can touch the place inside you, so you recognize who you are.
